Lennoxville United Church is an inclusive, life-affirming, and evolving Christian community of faith within The United Church of Canada. We are committed to engaging faith, scripture and tradition in progressive ways in matters of doctrine, worship, membership and governance.

Explanatory Notes

A church committed to engaging faith, scripture and tradition in progressive ways is more interested in an honest search for truth than in the certainty of ancient doctrines. The emphasis is on seeking an authentic spirituality of our times rather than assuming to have all the answers. We oppose any dogma that limits free inquiry and we hold to a model of Christian Community that emphasises the fair, open, peaceful and loving treatment of all human beings as reflected in the teachings and example of Jesus. We welcome on equal terms and extend rights of full participation to all, including gay, lesbian and transgendered persons.

An inclusive Church is open to all regardless of ability, age, ancestry, colour, ethnic origin, gender identity, language, marital status, place of origin, race, sexual orientation, socio-economic status or any other basis by which a person can be pre-judged.

A life-affirming church asserts a faith in the goodness and positiveness of life.
